We are currently supporting a growing business in the Stevenage area who are looking to recruit a Part-Time Financial Controller as they drive through the next phase of their long-term strategy. The business currently employs 15-20 people and have been in operation for around 8yrs but recently, having started to get traction with their projects and one eye on listing the business in the future, this opportunity has arisen and we’re keen to speak to those interested in either adding to their current portfolio of work or wanting a far better work/life balance by working 1-2 days.
Delivery of the Financial Reporting for the business, supporting the Managing Director with anything that may be needed in the short, medium and long term.
Assist in the implementation of an assurance and reporting plan to ensure the business meets its financial, operational, and compliance objectives.
Develop and manage the financial reporting process and procedures in conjunction with the Managing Director and help put the foundations and platforms in place that will drive the business forward.
Play an active role in the review of Group Policies & Procedures and ensure they are aligned with the changing risk profile of the business as they grow.
Undertake projects to implement new business processes across the business and assist with change management where needed.
Monitor for the remediation of control weaknesses identified on audits and ensure compliance with Group Policies & Procedures, Health & Safety Policies, and Compliance Guidelines.
Have a say and support with Internal Audits and report on control deficiencies and instances of non-compliance with policies & procedures; and operational risks.
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
Experience with reporting in US GAAP is a benefit but not essential
Experience implementing and improving processes for a young company would be advantageous
Ability to work within a small team where everyone gets involved and offers a support structure for all departments
Desire to work Part-Time for 1-2 days per week but potentially offer additional support during periods of high work load
