THE COMPANY

A highly successful business services company based in the heart of Manchester City Centre. The company has recently won some interesting new client instructions, and is undergoing a significant growth curve. As a result, they are expanding some of their key financial departments to meet demand.

The firm boasts multiple offices both at home and abroad, with over 100 of their key clients being serviced out of their North West offices. From their headquarters in Manchester the company offers niche accountancy and finance solutions to SME’s, along with further back office support for their clients HR and IT functions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a good opportunity for a qualified account who is looking to work in more commercial areas of accountancy without tying themselves to a specific industry based role.

This is a hybrid role (neither 100% practice, nor 100% industry) It will be client facing 70% - 80% of the time, and the day-to-day work will involve managing an existing client portfolio of various sizes within the SME market.

Please note that this role does not have a specific compliance/audit element, but you will be required to communicate with 3rd party auditors when the need arises.

THE ROLE

Your duties will include:

  • Management accounting;
  • Managing an existing client portfolio;
  • Cashflow forecasts;
  • Supervising junior team members;
  • Liaising with various clients 3rd party advisors, such as auditors;
  • Informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies;
  • Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions;
  • Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts.

ABOUT YOU

You will hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), and will have significant experience under your belt, either at Senior Accountant level, Financial Controller level, or Junior/New Finance Director level.

You will be able to work with both your colleagues, and the clients staff efficiently, whilst also being able to liaise with Managing Directors within the clients work force. You will have a self-starting attitude and will have a background in practice and/or industry.
